Chicken and Broccoli Lasagna 🍽️🧀🥦



Ingredients:


9 lasagna noodles, cooked

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

3 cups broccoli florets, lightly steamed

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup chicken broth

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions:


Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft, about 2-3 minutes.

Stir in flour until well combined. Gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth, cooking and stirring until thickened, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until cheeses are melted.

Spread a thin layer of the cheese sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half the chicken, half the broccoli, and 1/3 of the remaining cheese sauce. Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.

Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is slightly golden.

Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
