About Me

1. Who I Am
Hi, I’m Sofia Harper, the food-obsessed home chef behind RestRecipes.com. I’m a lover of slow mornings, warm ovens, and recipes that bring people together. What started as a hobby quickly became a full-blown passion — sharing recipes, experimenting in the kitchen, and building a space where anyone can fall in love with cooking, no matter their experience level.
2. My Culinary Roots
I come from a long line of cooks. My grandmother ran a small bakery, and I spent much of my childhood covered in flour, standing on a chair next to her mixing dough. My mom was the queen of comfort food — rich stews, hearty pastas, and homemade desserts filled our home with love and amazing smells. Cooking was never just a task — it was tradition, therapy, and love language.
3. Why I Created RestRecipes.com
During my college years, I realized how many people struggled with the idea of cooking. Most thought it was too hard, too time-consuming, or not worth the effort. That inspired me to start this blog — a space where food feels fun, forgiving, and fulfilling. I wanted to create a collection of recipes that feel like home, without needing professional training or expensive tools.
4. What You’ll Find Here

5. My Cooking Philosophy
I believe cooking should be joyful — not stressful. That’s why I focus on approachable ingredients, flexible instructions, and recipes that don’t rely on perfection. Whether you’re cooking for two or ten, I want you to feel confident, creative, and proud of what you make.
There’s no pressure for fancy plating or five-star technique. If it tastes good and makes people smile — that’s what really matters.
6. Behind the Blog
Every recipe on RestRecipes.com is created and tested in my home kitchen. I photograph each dish myself using natural light and a simple setup, because I want you to see the food exactly how it looks when you make it. I write, edit, and update every blog post personally — so you’re always getting my full attention and care in each piece of content.
